Technologies Related To Fiber Laser Cutting Machines

Aug 19, 2026

Core Operating Principle
It utilizes a multimode pump diode as the initial laser source to generate a near-infrared laser with a wavelength of approximately 1064 nm. The beam is coupled into a rare-earth-doped optical fiber, where its energy is amplified through multiple reflections within a fiber amplifier, ultimately forming a highly coherent, high-power laser beam. When focused onto the workpiece surface, the irradiated area instantly melts and vaporizes; a CNC system then controls the movement of the laser spot to perform non-contact, automated cutting, characterized by narrow kerfs, minimal heat-affected zones, and the absence of mechanical deformation.

Key Hardware Technologies
High-Power Fiber Laser Technology: Mainstream power outputs range from 300W to 30,000W; 10kW-class systems can stably cut carbon steel exceeding 40mm in thickness. By 2026, the localization rate for domestic high-power fiber lasers surpassed 92%. With an electro-optical conversion efficiency reaching 30%-three times that of CO₂ lasers-operational energy consumption is significantly reduced.
High-Precision Motion Control Technology: Utilizing bus-based servo motors and high-precision linear scale feedback, the system achieves a repeatability of ±0.02mm to ±0.05mm and rapid traverse speeds of up to 140m/min. Some models feature six-axis attitude compensation sensors, enabling micron-level precision control for curved surface processing.
Intelligent Cutting Head Technology: Next-generation intelligent cutting heads incorporate adaptive closed-loop gas pressure modules and capacitive sensors (with a thermal drift coefficient ≤0.8μm/℃). They enable real-time adjustment of focal position and assist gas pressure, preventing head collisions during cutting and ensuring consistent edge quality on thick plates.
High-Rigidity Bed Structure Technology: Designs utilize high-strength aluminum crossbeams or prestressed cast-iron beds. These undergo thorough aging treatment to eliminate internal stresses and suppress thermal deformation during prolonged operation. Certain floor-rail models support extra-large format processing (exceeding 6 meters), making them suitable for heavy-duty, thick-plate cutting applications.
