Maintenance Of Fiber Laser Cutting Machines

Aug 13, 2026

Daily Pre-start Checks
‌Lens Cleaning: Inspect the protective lens before startup. Wipe from the center outward using anhydrous alcohol and a dust-free cotton swab. Never touch the lens surface with bare hands, as fingerprints or oil residue can impair laser energy output.
‌Gas & Water System Inspection: Verify that laser gas pressure meets specifications and the cooling water level is within the MIN-MAX range. Ensure water temperature remains stable between 22–26°C to prevent overheating alarms.
‌Scrap Removal: Thoroughly clear cutting slag and debris from the worktable after the day's shift. This prevents metal chips from scratching guide rail surfaces and minimizes drive system wear at the source.
‌Gas Line Clearance: Clear the gas inlet nozzle to prevent smoke and dust buildup from clogging the line, ensuring a pure and stable supply of assist gas.

Weekly In-depth Maintenance
‌Guide Rail & Rack Maintenance: Clean metal dust from X/Y-axis guide rails and racks. Wipe with a lint-free cloth dampened with anti-rust oil, then apply specialized lubricant or gear grease to ensure smooth, snag-free movement.
‌Exhaust Fan & Gas System Drainage: Check the exhaust fan's suction power and clear accumulated dust from air ducts. Open the air filter drain valve to remove accumulated water, preventing moisture from entering and damaging the laser unit.
‌Machine Dust Removal: Use a vacuum cleaner to remove welding slag and debris from the machine interior and electrical cabinet gaps. Prevent dust from entering motherboard slots, which could cause circuit signal anomalies.
‌Belt Tension Check: Check drive belt tension using a 0.5mm feeler gauge; the gauge should not fit in (indicating proper tension). Immediately stop the machine to clean off any debris found on the belt surface to prevent wear and slippage.
